Comet destroyed in brush with sun

Comet ISON, once optimistically called the comet of the century, is dead, the victim of a way-too-close brush with the sun. It was barely a year old. The comet, which zipped within 730,000 miles of the sun on Thanksgiving Day, was pronounced dead at a scientific conference Tuesday.

The boy's mother said officials at Lincoln School of Science and Technology in Canon City, Colo., are over-reacting. Jennifer Saunders was surprised to find out that he would be forced out of school for several days. First-grader Hunter Yelton told KRDO-TV that he has a crush on a girl at school and that she likes him back.
