Courtney Campbell Parkway celebrates its 75th

A celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Courtney Campbell Parkway and the unveiling of the newly installed historical marker for the causeway will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Parking is at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, 2900 Bayport Drive, Tampa. The Clearwater Jolley Trolley will be available to take guests to the south side of the causeway east of Rocky Point Drive, where the ceremony will take place. Computer skills offered for seniors

Basic computer courses for senior residents in Pinellas County will be offered by Senior Citizens Services Inc., a not-for-profit charitable senior organization, 1204 Rogers St., Clearwater. The cost of these courses is $20 each. Dates and times will be determined based on response. For details, call Senior Citizens Services Inc. at (727) 442-8104. The courses:

Collection days switch in July

Starting July 5, Tarpon Springs residents will see a shift in when their solid waste, recycling and yard waste are collected. Solid waste will be collected Monday and Thursday for all city residents. For those living on the east side of Alt. U.S. 19, recyclables will be picked up on Mondays. For residents on the west side of Alt. U.S. 19, Thursday will be the pickup day for recyclables. Yard waste will be collected Mondays for residents on the west side of Alt. U.S. 19 and Thursdays for those on the east side of Alt. U.S. 19. Residents are asked to have materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on the day of service.

Kids can seek pool, land treasures

Largo's Splashes Treasure Hunt, for children 10 and younger, will be held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Highland Family Aquatic Center, 400 Highland Ave. Children will hunt for hidden treasure on land and in the water. The event will include beads, free hot dogs and tours of a pirate ship provided by Ye Mystic Krewe of Santa Margarita. A discount rate of $12 for groups of 10 will be offered.
