Clinic to host social at Fun Fitness Factory

Crescent Community Clinic will host an after-hours social from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Feb. 25 at Fun Fitness Factory, 1287 Kass Circle. Visitors will learn more about the latest developments of Crescent's Spring Hill clinic at 5244 Commercial Way (Winchester Plaza) that is scheduled to open in late spring. The Brooksville clinic currently provides free primary health care for adults ages 18-64 who do not have health insurance and are low to moderate income. The clinic does not receive federal, state or county funding, and relies on support from local businesses, community organizations and individuals. All physicians and medical staff are volunteers. Playground closed for maintenance

The playground at Pioneer Park, 6799 Pinehurst Drive, will be closed today and Thursday for scheduled maintenance and will reopen on Friday. For information, call the Hernando County Parks Department at (352) 754-4154.

Yard sale to help student group

Central High School DECA will host a yard sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Advance Auto Parts, 13427 Cortez Blvd., at Sunshine Grove Road, west of Brooksville. DECA is a business-marketing student organization. Funds raised will benefit Kasey Kupcik, a member of Central High's DECA who is a candidate for Florida State DECA vice president. Turn in drugs for disposal Feb. 24

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office and Brooksville Police Department will host Operation Medicine Cabinet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 24 at Carter Chiropractic and Wellness Center, 1188 S Broad St. This is a pharmaceutical take-back program that provides residents a chance to bring unused, unwanted or expired prescriptions, controlled substances and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal.
