Deadline Monday to sign up for holiday aid

The DayStar Life Center Food Pantry will help local families celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday through a gift card program at Publix grocery stores.

Families in need wishing to participate must sign up at the pantry by Monday. DayStar is at 7120 Hope Hill Road, off Cortez Boulevard, behind St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Also, DayStar is in need of volunteers. Those interested need only help a few hours a week, in the mornings. Opportunities are available in the food pantry and the clothing thrift store; volunteers are also needed to drive trucks for donation pickup service.

Those interested in volunteering may contact David Goodwin at (352) 799-5930. Visit the website at daystarlifecenter.org.
