LARGO — A Dunedin woman was jailed Monday on charges that she forced a taxi driver to help her flee the scene of a shoplifting.
Kierra Shuntay Boles, 18, was arrested on felony counts of carjacking, kidnapping and grand theft. Largo police say the incident happened about 1:45 a.m. Thursday.
They said Boles and an accomplice pushed a shopping cart containing two computers worth nearly $1,200 out the front door of the Walmart at 1111 N Missouri Ave., Largo. Outside the store, the knife-wielding suspects forced the cabbie to drive them to Clearwater, where they fled on foot, police said.
According to police, a second cab driver and a store employee were later able to identify Boles from a photograph.
