Old Fashioned Christmas set for Friday
Dunedin's Old Fashioned Christmas will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday on Main Street downtown. There will be holiday entertainment from local churches, and horse and carriage and train rides. The Jingle Bell Village includes Santa, children's holiday crafts and an opportunity to make your own s'mores. Writers wanted for One Act Festival
West Coast Players extends an invitation to all playwrights to submit one-act plays of 10 to 15 minutes or less to be performed in a One Act Festival July 9-11. About eight plays will be chosen. All plays must be original, requiring minimal staging. A $5 entry fee is required, but the majority of that will be awarded to the playwrights whose scripts are designated as favorites by vote of the audiences. Send one copy of the script, typed in standard format, by regular post (no e-mails) and postmarked no later than April 1 to West Coast Players, P.O. Santa ready to pose with pets
The Suncoast Animal League's annual Photos with Santa fundraiser is taking place the next three weekends. The schedule for getting your pet's photo taken with Santa is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Sunday, and Dec. 5-6 at Dunedin Highlander Park and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 12-13 at PB & J's Deli, 737 Main St., Safety Harbor. Meeting set for special transport
When transportation is unavailable or does not meet the special needs of a person with a disability, people may use an alternative transportation provider that is paid through the Medicaid waiver. The Agency for Persons with Disabilities, based in Tallahassee, will hold a public meeting from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa, 105 N Bayshore Drive, to discuss possible policy changes affecting the alternative transportation providers. Public input is welcome, and the meeting agenda is posted at APDCares.org.
