Elder dining, Dec. 26-30

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Sites closed and no deliveries due to the Christmas holiday.

Tuesday: Barbecue pork riblet, lyonnaise potatoes, green peas, whole-grain bread with margarine, chunky cinnamon apples, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Oven-baked fish filet with tartar sauce, cheesy grits, tomatoes and okra, whole-grain bread, fresh fruit, low-fat milk.

Thursday: Split pea soup, grilled chicken breast patty with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole-grain bread with margarine, oatmeal cookie, low-fat milk.

Friday: Pork chop patty with brown gravy, turnip greens, hoppin' John, wheat bread with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.
