FREE STARGAZING EVENT FRIDAY: Chasco Middle School at 7702 Ridge Road in Port Richey will be hosting a free stargazing event at 6 p.m. Friday. This is a community event and is open to the public. There will be a 'G' rated space-related movie at 6 p.m. and also a Star Lab set up for viewers to enjoy. Concessions will be sold to benefit Chasco Middle School. The school will have a few telescopes for participants to use, and stargazers may bring their own telescopes if they choose.
'Party with the Greeks' benefit: The New Port Richey chapter of the Daughters of Penelope has planned its third annual charity fundraiser, 'Opa! Party with the Greeks.' The party is from 6:30 to 11 p.m. April 27 at Spartan Manor, 6121 Massachusetts Ave., New Port Richey. The evening includes Greek dinner and pastries, American music by Ellada and performances by a world renowned bouzouki player, Greek folk dancers, the Hellas dancers and the Veiled Visions Belly Dance Revue. Proceeds benefit the Center for Independence, Open Door School and A.F.I.R.E., all not for profit schools for adults with developmental disabilities. Tickets are $45.
