Fire claims business on U.S. 41 in Ruskin

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue crews extinguished a fire that raged through an air conditioning repair business early Saturday in Ruskin.

Crews responded to the fire at 807 U.S. 41 N shortly before 3:30 a.m. to find the one-story building fully ablaze. They attacked the fire from all sides and with the aid of a ladder truck.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Spokesman Ronnie Rivera said the repair business was a total loss, but could not give an estimate of damages

The fire spread to a second building next door. It sustained heavy smoke and fire damage before crews brought it under control, Rivera said. Rivera said it isn't clear for what that building was used.

The fire was extinguished in about 25 minutes, according to Fire Rescue. No one was inside either building at the time nor was anyone injured.
