MIAMI

Two women killed, two hurt in shooting

Two women are dead and two others injured after a shooting in Miami.

Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll says the four women were shot Sunday shortly after midnight in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood.

An 18-year-old woman and another female believed to be in her mid-30s were found in traumatic arrest. Carroll says they had no pulse and were not breathing. Paramedics performed CPR all the way to Trauma Ryder Center, but they died from their injuries shortly after arriving.

A third woman shot in the leg was also taken to Ryder and listed in stable condition. The fourth woman was struck in the arm and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Miami-Dade police are investigating. No further details were immediately available.

Puppy left to die in motel's trash bin

Police in Winter Haven are asking for the public's help in finding who left a puppy to die in a Dumpster.

Authorities say Joshua Wanie found the Rottweiler puppy Wednesday outside a motel.

The puppy was taken to Polk County Animal Control, where it died.

Anyone with information is asked to call Winter Haven police at (863) 401-2256.

Motorcyclists hit by garbage truck die

A husband and wife are dead after their motorcycle crashed into a garbage truck Saturday.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office reports Michael Stanley Cox and his wife, Yvette Marie Cox, were riding a Harley-Davidson when a garbage truck driven by Bobby Caswell crossed in front of them.
