Free Thanksgiving dinners Nov. 18 and Nov. 26 in Brooksville

Free thanksgiving dinners offered today and Nov. 26

Love Your Neighbor, in partnership with Men of Faith, hosts the annual free Love Your Neighbor Thanksgiving dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mount Fair Ave. Another dinner will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Rising Sun Cafe, 10 S Main St. Volunteers and donations are appreciated. The nonprofit group expects to serve between 500 and 600 meals this year, as well as provide turkeys to families in need. Turkeys are needed for community meal

Donations of turkeys are needed for the Community Thanksgiving dinner that's 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place. The free dinner is sponsored by Christian Life Assembly of God and the Jesus and Me Ministry. Donations may be dropped off at the center after 10 a.m. Monday. Call (352) 597-1139.

Christmas Toy Ride is this afternoon

The 2012 Hernando County Sheriff's Office Christmas Toy Ride is today, starting at the Palace Grand, 275 Della Court, Spring Hill. Kickstands go up at 1 p.m. The deputy-escorted ride is co-hosted by the Freedom Chapter of ABATE of Florida. All types of vehicles may participate. The ride will head north on Commercial Way to Cortez Boulevard, ending at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office on the State Road 50 bypass in Brooksville. Participants should bring a new, unwrapped gift or a Walmart gift card, which will benefit Hernando County children in need during the holiday season.
