Hate smoking, love bingo? This is for you

The Knights of Columbus Father Farrell Council 6476, 2040 Grand Blvd., in Holiday, offers non-smoking Bingo each Sunday at 1 p.m. Doors open at 11 a.m. Each Friday the council offers a dinner dance with dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. and dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Cost is $11 for both or $5 for the dance. Volunteer for annual waterways cleanup

Volunteers are needed for the Annual Coastal Cleanup and Central Pasco Waterways Cleanup scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 20.

Site captains are Betsy Crisp, Pasco County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences faculty member for the University of Florida and Kurt Conover, director of Business development for Regional Medical Center of Bayonet Point.

    ST. PETERSBURG —The six runs seemed like a ton, just the second time the Rays had scored that many in a game during their numbing two-plus-weeks stretch of offensive impotency, and amazingly, the first time at the Trop in nearly two months.

    Lucas Duda connects for a two-run home run in the sixth, getting the Rays within 7-5. A Logan Morrison home run in the ninth made it 7-6, but Tampa Bay couldn’t complete the comeback.
