Health fair and medication disposal March 26 in Spring Hill


Check your health; get rid of old meds

A Health Fair, sponsored by the Business Professional Women of Hernando County, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council 6383, 10470 Spring Hill Drive.

The event will include entertainment, raffles, door prizes and free screenings. Vendors will offer services, including blood pressure checks, nutrition information, and more. All proceeds benefit the BPW's scholarship fund.

In addition, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office will hold its Operation Medicine Cabinet-Pharmaceutical take back program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the event. Residents can bring unused, unwanted or expired prescriptions, controlled substances and over-the-counter medications for safe disposal. Uniform deputies will be on hand to receive the drugs being turned in.
