Hernando Animal Services to have open house, new hours

Animal services to have open house, new hours

Effective this week, Hernando County Animal Services, 19450 Oliver St., Brooksville, will be open Tuesday through Saturday. The public is invited to an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the facility. Animal rescue organizations will be on hand to provide information about their services. The new hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Saturday. For more information, call (352) 796-5062.

Offices alter their hours, too

Two other county offices also have changed customer service hours, effective this week:

• Hernando County Utilities, 7405 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Friday. Call (352) 754-4037.

• The supervisor of elections office at 7443 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each Wednesday and Friday. The main office — at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St., Brooksville — will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Call (352) 754-4125.

SPRING HILL

Israeli Food Fest is March 10

Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will host its 20th annual Israeli Food Fest from noon to 4 p.m. March 10. The event will feature homemade foods, including blintzes, kugel, potato latkes, stuffed cabbage, chopped liver, kosher hot dogs and other items and baked goods. The temple's Judaica gift shop will host a sale, and there will be a variety of vendors. Israeli folk dancing will be presented throughout the day. Admission is free. BROOKSVILLE

Race will benefit center

Dash for the Dawn Center will be March 16 at the Brooksville Country Club at Majestic Oaks, 23446 Links Drive. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and the race starts at 8 a.m. The event, hosted in association with the Red Mule Runners, will include a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile support walk. Participants collect pledges in lieu of a registration fee. A prize will be awarded to the participant who raises the most money. Sponsorships are also available.
