Hernando County employees overwhelmingly approved their first contract on Monday by a vote of 136 to seven. Three of the yes votes were from the professional employees union and the rest for the nonprofessional unit. The Teamsters Union was voted in this year to represent approximately 550 county workers. The vote came after a ratification meeting in the chambers of the County Commission in Brooksville. The contract now goes to the commissioners at their Nov. 10 meeting for final approval.
