LEARN CPR: A CPR/automated external defibrillator class will be offered at 6 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Brooksville Enrichment Center, Suite 120 in the Medical Arts Building at Brooksville Regional Hospital, 17222 Hospital Blvd., west of Brooksville.
The class will be offered again on Sept. 20. The course meets the guidelines of the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute. It is designed for professional health care providers, but anyone may participate. The cost is $20.

PRESCHOOL HAS OPENINGS: Eagle Nest Preschool will host orientation and registration Wednesday at the preschool, which is at Springstead High School, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.
The preschool is available to children ages 3 and 4 who are potty trained. There are openings in both the morning and afternoon sessions, from 8:30 to 10:40 a.m. or from noon to 2:19 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The children are taught by high school juniors and seniors who are enrolled in Springstead's early childhood education program. The cost is $50 per month.
Those wishing to attend the orientation and registration must first call and get on the enrollment list; no walk-ins will be accepted.

DOCUMENTARY ABOUT POLITICIANS: The Hernando County Green Party will offer a free showing of the documentary Fools on the Hill at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Spring Hill Branch/Harold G. Zopp Memorial Library, 9220 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill.
The Jed Rigney documentary follows Jerrol LeBaron, who is on a quest to make lawmakers do their job — read the bills they are passing.

COLLEGE NIGHT: Pasco-Hernando Community College will host its annual College Night for prospective students from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 13 at Nature Coast Technical High School, 4057 California St., south of Brooksville.
The College Night will bring together representatives from PHCC, as well as numerous other public and private colleges, other educational institutions and the military. It will serve as a one-stop opportunity to get information about admissions, financial aid and post-secondary programs.
