Hillsborough County library expansion projects to begin in January

TAMPA — Three Hillsborough libraries will undergo renovations after the new year begins and a fourth will open in 2013, county officials said.

Expansion projects are scheduled to begin at the Jimmie B. Keel Regional and Upper Tampa Bay Regional libraries in January. At both libraries, the projects will add additional square footage. The new spaces will include larger children's rooms and additional seating.

Construction at the Brandon Regional Library also will begin in January, where the parking area will be renovated and expanded, officials said.

The libraries will maintain normal operating hours. All projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013. The new 22,000-square-foot Seminole Heights Branch Library also is expected to open in late 2013, officials said.
