Showcase | Tampa Boat Show

Boating enthusiasts can view and board hundreds of the latest boats, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Saturday at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin St. The show includes marine accessories for sale, live music at the Party Barge, a look at the new Tampa Fire and Rescue Fire Boat, free boat rides, boat handling courses and attractions for boaters of all ages. Also from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $9, ages 15 and younger admitted free. All military, fire, rescue and police get free admission on Saturday. Patriots Day celebration and benefit: Remember those lost and celebrate freedom at a family event that includes the Ground Zero Search and Rescue photo exhibit, photo auction, music, face painting, clowns, food and drink and performances by the Tampa Police Department Honor Guard, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Heights, 1910 Ola Ave. Proceeds from auction and sales benefit the families of Cpl. Tuohy will also speak later at a meet-and-greet and present her new book In a Heartbeat, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Saks Fifth Avenue, 258 Westshore Plaza.
