Hudson driver cited for hitting two teens near bus stop

HUDSON — The driver who hit two teens on their way to the bus stop last week has been cited for careless driving.

Deanna Leggio, 21, of Hudson, was driving north on Utica Drive about 7 a.m. Oct. 6 when she swerved to avoid some children walking toward a bus stop at Utica and New York Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. She avoided those kids, but hit two other teens: 15-year-old Walter Edelman and 13-year-old William Calder, FHP said.

Both teens were treated at area hospitals for their injuries.
