Partnership Ball applications due by Wednesday

Applications for the Junior League of St. Petersburg's third annual Partnership Ball are due by Wednesday.

Each year, the league works with another area nonprofit organization to raise money and awareness for each. The recipient will be announced May 18; the ball is Dec. 3.

Music showcase is at Palladium Wednesday

Students of the Music Industry and Recording Arts program at St. Petersburg College will present a music showcase at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N.

Admission is $5 or free for SPC students and staff members.

Demens lecture will have Russian flavor

Retired Russian studies professor Bill Parsons will give a lecture about Peter Demens, one of St. Petersburg's founders, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sunshine Center ballroom, 330 Fifth St. N.

The program will include entertainment and Russian refreshments. Tickets are $5.
