Land O'Lakes library offers Kids Crafts Saturday


Library offers craft event for children

Elementary school-aged children are invited to Kids Crafts at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Land O'Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway in Land O'Lakes.

Seasonal crafts will be created.

Grab a power lunch with chamber Monday

The Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce will have a Power Lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Benedetto's Italiano Ristorante, 21529 Village Lakes Shopping center.

Party at Elks Lodge on New Year's Eve

The Aripeka Elks Lodge, 9135 Denton Ave. in Hudson, will celebrate New Year's Eve with a dinner dance on Dec. 31.

Open bar at 7 p.m., prime rib dinner at 8 p.m. and music by the Bendy's from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with breakfast at 1 a.m.

Tickets are $50 per person and there will be reserved seating only.

Port Richey

Community Center is always game for bingo

Bingo is every Thursday, except Christmas, at the Jewish Community Center, 9841 Scenic Drive, Port Richey.

Doors open at 8 a.m. with the games starting at 10 a.m. A marathon bingo is planned for New Year's Day with 80 games played.

The community center collects nonperishable food for the needy all year long and will continue collecting food for Christmas dinners. The Salvation Army picked up two full barrels of food for Thanksgiving.

The bingo players also donate toys for Toys for Tots.

Celebrate today at Holiday on the Green

A Traditional Holiday Celebration called Holiday Traditions on the Green, by the Heritage Park Foundation, is planned for 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, U.S. 41 in Land O'Lakes.

Hometown tales will be shared by long time residents Dr. Susan MacManus, state Rep. Will Weatherford and others.

There will be local church and school choirs, Bell's Angels Bell Choir and the award-winning puppet team P.F.C.

Holiday sugar cookies and hot apple cider will be served. Bring a lawn chair.

Library Web site puts help within reach

The Pasco County Library System is the only library in Florida to win an E-government grant to help serve the public during difficult economic times.

The government uploads forms every day onto its Web site for easier and more widespread access. Part of the grant purchased laptop computers for each branch of the library system.

People can access the resources from home computers by visiting, clicking on favorite links and clicking E-government sites under the government heading.


Knights of Columbus dinner dance Fridays

Knights of Columbus Father Farrell Council 6476, offers a dinner dance with dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. and dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. every Friday in the Family Life Center at the St. Vincent De Paul Church, 4843 Mile Stretch Road in Holiday.

This Friday, Mario DeLeon will play. Dinner/dance is $11 or dance only $5. The Ladies Auxiliary Monthly Card Party is set for Dec. 22. Lunch is at 11 a.m. with cards at noon. Cost is $6.
