Locations to donate blood in Hernando County April 15-21

The LifeSouth Community Blood Center mobile unit will be at the following locations this week.

Today: Bus 1, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Christian Church in the Wildwood, 10051 Country Road, north of Weeki Wachee. Bus 2, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1107 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. (Donors at both locations receive a Chick-fil-A free sandwich coupon.)

Monday: Bus 1, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Walmart, 1485 Commercial Way, Spring Hill. Bus 2, 3 to 5 p.m., Vulcan Materials Florida Rock Division, 3512 S U.S. 301, Bushnell.

Tuesday: Bus 1, 8 to 11 a.m., Tampa Bay Times/Hernando Times, 15365 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville; 1:30 to 4 p.m., Hernando County Utilities, 15400 Wiscon Road, west of Brooksville. Bus 2, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Walmart, 13300 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill.

Wednesday: Bus 1, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Parrott Middle School, 19220 Youth Drive, Brooksville. Bus 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wellington Clubhouse, 400 Wexford Blvd., Spring Hill.

Thursday: Bus 1, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St., Brooksville. Bus 2, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Arc Nature Coast, 4560 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill; 3 to 5:30 p.m., St. Luke's Cataract and Laser Institute, 1180 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.

Friday: Bus 1, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Chocachatti Elementary School, 4235 California St., south of Brooksville (donors receive a free kid's t-shirt). Bus 2, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Subway, 13078 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill (donors receive a free footlong sub).

Saturday: Bus 1, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Walmart, 7305 Broad St., Brooksville. Bus 2, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lowe's, 4780 Commercial Way, Spring Hill.

The blood center, at 12395 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. Donors must be 16 or older (16-year-olds must have written parental consent). All donors must present photo identification. For information, call (352) 596-2002.

    CBO analysis: 23 million would lose health coverage under House-passed bill

    WASHINGTON — The Republican health care bill that passed the House earlier this month would nearly double the number of Americans without health insurance over the next decade, according to a new analysis by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

That analysis was released Thursday and it showed the bill would cause 23 million fewer people to have health insurance by 2026. Many additional consumers would see skimpier health coverage and higher deductibles, the budget office projected.
