Meals on wheels/Senior menus

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Sliced turkey with turkey gravy, potatoes O'Brien, carrot coins, whole grain bread with margarine, sugar cookie, low fat milk.

Tuesday: Meatballs with tomato gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole grain bread with margarine, Valentine's Day dessert, low fat milk.

Wednesday: Baked chicken thigh, potatoes au gratin, mixed vegetables, whole wheat bread with margarine, fresh fruit, low fat milk.

Thursday: Three bean beef chili, white rice, whole kernel corn, whole grain roll with margarine, mixed fruit, low fat milk.

Friday: Pork chop patty with brown gravy, black eyed peas with turkey ham, country vegetable medley, white bread with margarine, peaches, low fat milk.
