Meet and greet at historical society event

Nonprofit community groups are meeting at the Oldsmar Public Library to reach out to the community during today's Oldsmar Historical Society Meet & Greet. They include Friends of the Library, Woman's Club, Top of the Bay Gardening Club, Oldsmar Cares, Citizens Academy, Historical Society, Holiday Sharing Fund, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), Fire Rescue, and Boy and Girl Scouts. The event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 400 St. Petersburg Drive in Oldsmar.

Drop (Off) Your Drawers at library

The Dunedin Public Library, 223 Douglas Ave., reopens today after recarpeting and is accepting donations of new underwear for Clothes to Kids' Drop (Off) Your Drawers campaign. The nonprofit group provides garments to low-income children. Library director Phyllis Gorshe said the branch wants to beat its record of more than 900 pairs collected last year. ARToberfest also has worship time

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will host its fourth annual ARToberfest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 407 S Saturn Ave. The two-day celebration features exhibits, entertainers, vendors, health and community programs, and artisan demonstrations. All aboard for 'boating safely'

Register now for a boat safety course presented by Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-1 Clearwater. The program, "About Boating Safely," will be held at 8 a.m. on Nov. 3 and 4 at the Clearwater Police Department, 645 Pierce St., in downtown Clearwater. Topics include getting under way, navigating and legal requirements. All graduates receive a Florida State Certification Card. Materials are $35. Apply for health facilities authority

Resumes are now being accepted for a four-year appointment to the Pinellas County Health Facilities Authority, a conduit financing authority that issues revenue bonds for nonprofit health care facilities including hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes and hospice facilities. The authority holds meetings as needed to consider applications for financing approval. Applicants must be registered to vote in Pinellas County. Resumes must be received no later than Nov. 2. County commissioners will review all resumes and make a selection at their Nov. 27 meeting.
