Men's chorus will usher in concert series

The Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony will kick off the 2012-13 Community Performing Arts Concert Series with concerts at 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd. This is a men's semi-professional a cappella chorus that performs barbershop-style, and has been entertaining Florida audiences since 1945. A limited number of free tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Tickets must be picked up at the church office. For information, call (352) 544-1068.

Kennel Club to host show, rally

The Hernando County Kennel Club will host its annual dog show and obedience and rally trial Nov. 10 and 11 at Florida Classic Park, 5360 Lockhart Road, east of Brooksville. Visitors may talk to instructors, trainers and breeders, as well as watch a conformation competition with many different breeds of purebred dogs. Road dedication for slain soldier

The Hernando County Commission will hold a ceremony at 11 a.m. Monday to dedicate Yontz Road, from Howell Avenue to Cobb Road, to Army Spc. Clarence Williams III. Williams was killed July 8 when his armored vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. The dedication and sign unveiling will be at the corner of Yontz and Howell.
