Moton students to decorate Christmas tree at Brooksville City Hall


City Hall tree will show handiwork of Moton students

The children in Linda Kelly's and Jeanne Lashley's kindergarten classes at Moton Elementary School will decorate the Christmas tree and sing carols at City Hall at 10 a.m. today at 201 Howell Ave. The tree will be adorned with the students' handmade ornaments. Lucky blood donor will get an iPad Mini

LifeSouth Community Blood Center is in need of all blood types. Those who donate blood this month will be entered in a raffle to win an iPad Mini. All donors also will receive a T-shirt and cholesterol screening. The LifeSouth bloodmobile will be at Panera Bread from 9 a.m. to noon today, 1403 Commercial Way, and at the Airport Flea Market, 17375 Spring Hill Drive, south of Brooksville, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. LifeSouth is at 12395 Cortez Blvd. and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Donors must be 16 or older (16-year-olds must have written parental consent). All donors must present photo identification. For information, call (352) 596-2002.

'Passion for Fashion' needs formal dresses

The Kiwanis Club of the Nature Coast is seeking donations of gently used prom, bridesmaid and homecoming gowns and dresses for its "Passion for Fashion" Prom Expo and Fashion Show. Shoes and purses are also needed. Those who make a donation will receive a free ticket to the event, which will be Feb. 2. Donations may also be dropped off at Notre Dame Catholic School, 1095 Commercial Way, or at Up 4 Breakfast Restaurant, 14359 Spring Hill Drive.
