Volunteers needed to work with the elderly
The Florida Department of Elder Affairs seeks volunteers for its elderly assistance program, SHINE. Volunteers provide counseling and other assistance to seniors, make educational presentations and participate in community events.

Calendar of artwork supports new center
The South Shore Arts Council is selling a calendar featuring artwork done by children and adults during Ruskin's three annual Big Draws. Proceeds benefit the new arts and cultural center set for the soon-to-be-vacated fire station in downtown Ruskin.
Calendars can be purchased for a tax-deductible donation of $10 or more to the South Shore Arts Council.
