Chamber's monthly coffee set for Thursday

The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Coffee An' Networking, a business leads program, from 8 to 9 a.m. Thursday at Beef O'Brady's, Pinellas Shopping Center, 841 West Bay Drive.

A networking exercise and door prizes will be featured. The event is free for members and $10 for nonmembers. To register, contact the chamber at (727) 584-2321 or e-mail

Holiday luncheon set for Dec. 8 with music

Celebrate the season at the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce Annual Holiday Luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Royal Palms Theater at the Palms of Largo, 300 Lake Ave. NE.

The Largo High School Madrigal Singers, led by choral director William Renfroe, will entertain with holiday music. Gift baskets will be raffled off to benefit the Chamber's Education Fund. The Largo High School and PTEC Students of the Month also will be recognized.

This event is sponsored by the chamber's Women In Business Council, the Palms of Largo and Chick-Fil-A Ulmerton Road.

Human resources seminar on workplace

"Making the Workplace Worthwhile: Value-Added Benefits, Diversity & Work-Life Programs" is the next topic in a continuing series of human resources seminars presented by the Human Resources Factor and the Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce. It takes place Dec. 9 in the Chamber Board Room, 151 Third St. NW, Largo. Coffee and registration is 7:30 a.m. and the program is from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

The seminar will address ways to recognize employee needs, values and differences to help make the workplace a more engaging and rewarding environment. This can be achieved by offering benefits and services that employees desire, diversity programs that recognize the many faces and beliefs of your staff, and work-life initiatives that allow flexibility.

The seminar is presented by Katie Kato of the Human Resources Factor. Cost is $15. To register, contact the chamber at (727) 584-2321.

Free SCORE business counseling at chamber

The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring business counseling services provided by SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) at its offices by appointment every first and third Thursday monthly.

SCORE counselors represent working and retired business executives who volunteer their lifetime experience providing assistance for people looking to start a business and for owners/managers of existing businesses. There is no cost. Counseling appointments can be made only by calling (727) 584-2321.
