North Tampa events: basketball shoot-out; Carrollwood business; charity luncheon; fitness class

Basketball shoot-out: The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department will hold an Individual 3-Point Basketball Shoot-out for anyone age 12 and older from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Keystone Park, 17928 Gunn Highway in Odessa. The cost is $5 for early registration; $10 for game day registration. To register, call (813) 264-3819.

Charity luncheon: The GFWC Tampa Lakes Woman's Club hosts its annual Charity Luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at University Village, 12401 N 22nd St. Card games, Scrabble, mahjong and other games, plus door prizes, a silent auction, a jewelry boutique and bake sale are on tap. Fitness program: A six-week health and weight loss program for adults — GIFT, or Get Into Fitness Today — will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday and each week through May 3 at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 N Boulevard. Cost is $24 for members of the Life Enrichment Center, $30 for nonmembers. Participants will learn how to improve their health by incorporating good nutrition and physical activity into their lifestyles.
