North Tampa events: Planning Commission; Little Women; prostate cancer

City service: Residents of Temple Terrace who are interested in representing the city on the Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission can contact the city clerk's office, 11250 N 56th St., for a citizen board handbook and application. Applications must be returned to the clerk's office no later than Sept. 17. Regular meetings of the planning commission are held on the second Monday of each month at 2 p.m. at the offices of the planning commission, 18th Floor, 601 E Kennedy Blvd.

Girls invited: The GFWC Little Women of Lutz invites girls ages 12 to 18 to attend a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lutz Volunteer Fire Department Board Room, 124 W Lutz-Lake Fern Road, to learn about the organization. Cathy Hogue, GFWC Lutz-Land O'Lakes Woman's Club member, will demonstrate the fine art of egg decorating in the Ukrainian tradition. This is a very active community service organization through which school service hours may be earned, as well as opportunities for scholarships. Support group: The Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group, an educational program from the American Cancer Society for prostate cancer survivors and their significant others, is held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday of each month at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, 12810 USF Magnolia Drive.
