Art class: Register now for "Painting in Acrylics & Oils,'' to be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting Wednesday and continuing each Wednesday through July 31 at Life Enrichment Center, 9704 N Boulevard. Students will learn the basics of oil or acrylic painting. Perspective, color, mixing, blending and brush control will be explored. This class will expand artistic knowledge and skills. Students of all levels are welcome. Cost for the six-week course is $75 for members of the Life Enrichment Center or $90 for nonmembers. Class size is limited and requires advance registration. Family reading: Make reading time family time from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 2-Conference Room at the Upper Tampa Bay Regional Library, 11211 Countryway Blvd. Stories, action rhymes, songs and interactive activities make up this fun, 30-minute program that celebrates a love of reading for children of all ages. Special needs camp: Camp Sparks is a summer day camp designed for people between age 5 and 22 with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries and learning disabilities. Two-week sessions run through Aug. 9. North Tampa locations include Hunters Green Elementary, 9202 Highland Oak Drive; and Citrus Park Elementary, 7700 Gunn Highway. Activities include sports, games, arts and crafts, and cooking, as well as special events, swimming and field trips. Camp Sparks is offered by the Therapeutics Team. You must pre-register.
