North Tampa gardening notes

The Begonia Society of Tampa Bay: Mary Bucholtz will talk about photography and present a slide presentation at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Tate Distribution Center, 6401 N 54th St. First-time attendees get a free begonia. Call (813) 779-7641.

Tampa Bay Orchid Society: Celebrate "Orchtoberfest" with a field trip to the Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando at 8 a.m. Saturday. Cost is $26.50 and includes transportation and an orchid. Buses meet in northwest Tampa and Brandon. Call (813) 310-7676.

Tampa Orchid Society: Rolf Wilhelm will talk about "Stanhopeas" at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ragan Community Center, 1200 East Lake Ave. Call (813) 909-7547.

Tampa Orchid Club: The Botanical Gardens Orchid Expo show and sale is from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 2 at USF Botanical Gardens, 12210 USF Pine Drive.
