Pasco County Meals on Wheels, senior meal menus

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: New York strip patty, garlic mashed potatoes, garden peas with mushrooms, white bread with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.

Tuesday: Chicken Florentine, lima beans, brown rice, whole wheat bread with margarine, peanut butter cookie, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Hamburger patty with mustard and ketchup, baked beans, yellow corn with diced tomatoes, hamburger bun with margarine, applesauce, low-fat milk.

Thursday: Barbecue chicken leg quarter, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, mixed fruit, low-fat milk.

Friday: Sausage and bean casserole, chopped spinach, carrot coins, whole grain wheat bread, football brownie in honor of Father's Day, low-fat milk.
