Pasco County Meals on Wheels, senior menus

Pasco County operates seven congregate dining centers for adults ages 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $5 fee per meal. For meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Smoked sausage with mustard, potatoes O'Brien, cabbage and carrots, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, sugar cookie, low-fat milk.

Tuesday: Meatballs with tomato gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, apple crisp, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Split pea soup, oven fried chicken leg quarter, potatoes au gratin, mixed vegetables, whole wheat bread with margarine, fresh fruit, low-fat milk.

Thursday: Three bean beef chili, white rice, whole kernel corn, whole grain wheat roll with margarine, mixed fruit, low-fat milk.

Friday: Pork chop patty with brown gravy, black eye peas, country vegetable medley, corn bread square with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.
