Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. Wednesday: Split pea soup, grilled chicken breast patty with tomato pepper sauce, yellow rice, broccoli cuts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, oatmeal raisin cookie, low-fat milk.
Thursday: Beef and macaroni casserole, carrot coins, garden peas, dinner roll with margarine, fresh fruit, low-fat milk.
Friday: Pork riblet with barbecue sauce, Lyonnaise potatoes, mixed vegetables, seeded hamburger bun with margarine, pears, low-fat milk.
