Republican Club to host candidate forum
The Republican Club of Central Pasco will host a candidate forum for the Republican candidates for County Commission District 1 at 6:30 p.m. March 28 at the Copperstone Executive Suites, 3632 Land O'Lakes Blvd.
Candidates for the seat are Rachel O'Connor, Debbie Wells and Ron Oakley. The meeting will include refreshments.

Attend a meeting on transportation plans
As part of Mobility 2040, Pasco County's long-range transportation plan, the Pasco County Metropolitan Planning Organization is conducting a study to define transportation alternatives for the State Road 54/56 corridor.
The public is encouraged to attend the organization's next task force meetings at Rasmussen College, 18600 Fernview St., Land O'Lakes. The West Task Force meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, and East Task Force meeting is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 31.

Easter Bunny photos, egg hunt for kids
Gulfside Hospice and Pasco Palliative Care, 6224 Lafayette St., will host a free community Easter egg hunt for children ages 10 and younger at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Easter Bunny will be available for photos from 11 a.m. to noon. Each child should bring a basket to collect eggs. The first 100 children will receive a goody bag. The event also will include Easter-themed games and crafts. Refreshments will be served. Anybody who RSVPs for the event will be entered to win a chocolate bunny.

The Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum for the Dade City Commission Group 4 race at 6 p.m. Monday at the Dade City Woman's Club, 37922 Palm Ave.
The event will start with a candidate meet-and-greet. The forum, which will be moderated by C.T. Bowen of the Tampa Bay Times and Tom Jackson of the Tampa Tribune, will follow. Candidates will have the opportunity to introduce themselves, answer questions from the moderators and the public, and make closing statements.

fundraiser for nerdnation trip: The Pasco-Hernando State College Phi Theta Kappa honor society will host a spaghetti lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in R-151 in the conference center at PHSC's West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. The all-you-can-eat meal is a fundraiser to support the society's trip to the international convention, NerdNation 2016, in National Harbor, Md., in April, where the students will tour Washington, D.C., and attend leadership workshops. enter boat parade: The New Port Richey Rotary Club is seeking entries for its annual Chasco Fiesta Boat Parade, which will be at 1 p.m. April 9 on the Cotee River.
Boats may be provided by businesses, schools, nonprofit groups, organizations, families or individuals. This year's theme is "It's About the Music."
Ten cash prizes will range from $200 to $1,000 and will be awarded in these categories: profit, nonprofit/schools and individual/family. Judging will be based on theme, spirit, originality and use of decorations.
There is a $25 registration fee that must be submitted in person at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, 5443 Main St., by April 2.
