Longleaf Farmers Market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in downtown Longleaf, off Starkey Boulevard and State Road 54, New Port Richey.

Sweetwater Sunday Market is from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays at Sweetwater Organic Community Farm, Hanley Road and Comanche Avenue, Tampa. Includes native plants, fresh organic produce and products from green vendors and artisans. Live music from 1 to 3 p.m.; open mike from noon to 1 p.m. and 3 to 4 p.m.


Propagation: Starting New Plants from Cuttings, 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O'Lakes Blvd. (U.S. 41). This same seminar also will be presented 9 to 11 a.m. Aug. 11. Propagating plants from cuttings can be a relatively easy way to produce inexpensive replicas of your favorite plants. Green Industries-Best Management Practices, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23 at Hernando County Cooperative Extension Services, 1653 Blaise Drive, Brooksville. This workshop provides training and opportunity for certification in Best Management Practices for those working in the lawn, landscape, pest control or municipal grounds maintenance industries. After successful completion of the post-test, a certificate of completion, honored statewide, will be mailed and may be used to apply for the state license. Preregistration is required.
