Senior meals

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs. The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. And the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco, (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Sliced turkey with turkey gravy, potatoes O'Brien, carrot coins, whole-grain bread with margarine, sugar cookie, low-fat milk.

Tuesday: Meatballs with tomato gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole-grain bread with margarine, mixed fruit, low-fat milk.

Wednesday: Vegetable soup, baked chicken thigh, potatoes au gratin, mixed vegetables, wheat bread with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.

Thursday: Three-bean beef chili, steamed rice, yellow corn, whole-grain bread with margarine, graham crackers, low-fat milk.

Friday: Pork chop patty with brown gravy, black-eyed peas with turkey ham, country vegetable medley, wheat bread, pineapple, low-fat milk.
