Sheriff's office deems Death as 'suspicious'

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is investigating the "suspicious death" of an unidentified Hispanic man in his early 20s. His body was found about 5:30 p.m. Sunday near Cooper's Bar, 13500 Center St. Officials did not release the cause of death or any other details Sunday evening.

Search initiated for missing boater, 17

The search is on for a 17-year-old boater who went missing over the weekend. The boater, whose name was not released, left Gulf Harbors about 6 p.m. Saturday for Anclote Island, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. When he did not return the next day as planned, his father reported him missing at 5:18 p.m. Sunday. The U.S. Coast Guard and the sheriff's Marine Unit are searching for the boater and his dark gray 15-foot Key Largo boat with a Yamaha motor.

Halloween theme to late-night races

This fall's continuing-education classes at Pasco-Hernando Community College are just around the corner. Among the offerings this session are photo retouching (1 to 3 p.m. Thursdays from Oct. 30 to Nov. 20), watercolor painting (1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays from Nov. 4 to Dec. 2) and creative writing (10 a.m. to noon Fridays from Nov. 7 to Dec. 5). Lindrick to shut off water temporarily

Water service will be temporarily shut off to Lindrick Utilities customers in Gulf Harbors Woodlands, Sea Forest and Green Key from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 4 a.m. Wednesday while crews replace a water meter.
