LAND O'LAKES — Just in time for Mother's Day, Pasco Animal Services is offering free adoptions for all mothers through May 18 (though new owners will need to pay $10 for a Pasco County dog license).

Animal Services will feature adoptable dogs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Pasco County Home Show at the Verizon Center, 8718 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey.

Dogs and cats will also be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Petco at 16248 State Road 54, Odessa.

Both events are part of Pasco's ongoing efforts to "Save 90 percent" of the animals coming through the Land O'Lakes shelter. Regular adoption fees are $70 for dogs and $40 for cats. The Pasco Animal Services shelter is at 19640 Dogpatch Lane, Land O'Lakes.
