Pier celebration including 'ultimate pier cocktail' judging is May 18

A Pier celebration

The public is invited to a day of nostalgia and celebrating at the Pier on Saturday from noon to sunset. The event will feature local artists, water skiers, bagpipes, children's activities and more.

Three Pier restaurants, Cha Cha Coconuts Tropical Bar & Grill, Fresco's Waterfront Bistro and Jonny Reno's Waterfront Restaurant & Watering Hole, will each concoct what they say is the "ultimate pier cocktail." The cocktails will be judged by popular vote as well as local celebrity judges.

Admission is free, but VIP tickets including cake, samples of the cocktails and more are available for $10 each or two for $19.73. (Remember, the inverted pyramid opened in 1973.)

Local artists are invited to showcase and sell their art during the daytime festivities. Email for information.
