League of Women Voters of North Pinellas representatives Fay Law and Donna Sheehy met with State Sen. Mike Fasano on Dec. 3 to discuss redistricting, taxation, early voting and citizen initiatives including the statutory initiatives.

Each year, representatives of the League of Women Voters across the state meet with their local state legislators before the spring session to inform them of the League's legislative priorities and to obtain information.

The Clearwater Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution annual fashion show luncheon took place Dec. 5 at the Belleair Country Club. It was called to order by Second Vice Regent Christine Lewis. Chaplain Eby Owen led the group in prayer and song.

Modeling fashions from LaBoutique, a shop on Clearwater's Island Estates, were Helen Dalzelle, Elizabeth Chase, Marilyn Anderson, Peggy Kemp, MaryAnn Edwards and Christine Lewis.

Members brought raffle and door prizes to share. Angela Kendall donated prints of Florida birds she photographed; Elizabeth Chase donated a framed Thomas Kinkade print; and others donated gift cards, baskets, wine and homemade items.

The Tarpon Springs Lions Club hosted an 8-Pin No Tap Tournament Bowl-a-Thon and Chinese auction Nov. 15 at Tarpon Lanes to raise money for Southeastern Guide Dogs.

Sixty-five bowlers of all ages, including two teams whose members are blind or visually impaired, competed for the top three trophies.

A representative for Southeastern Guide Dogs was in attendance with an 8-month-old puppy in training to become a guide dog for a visually disabled person.

Last year, the Lions Club raised $1,000 to benefit Southeastern Guide Dogs, and matched that amount again this year.
