Clothes to Kids seeking donations for annual "Drop (off) Your Drawers" drive: The Drop (off) Your Drawers drive is collecting new, unopened underwear, specifically boys' sizes 4-16 (briefs and boxers), young men's sizes 30 and up, girls' sizes 6-16, juniors sizes 5 and up (primarily bikini style). Each child who shops at Clothes To Kids receives a complete wardrobe of five pairs of new socks, five pairs of new underwear, five tops, four bottoms and a pair of shoes. Donations will be accepted through August at the Clearwater (1059 N Hercules Ave.) or St. Petersburg location (Twin Brooks Commons, 2168 34th St. S). St. Pete Beach Community Center offers after-school care: The St. Pete Beach Community Center, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, is offering after-school care during the 2017-18 school year for elementary school children.

The program will pick up students from Gulf Beaches, Azalea, and Pasadena Elementary and will care for them until 6 p.m. every day. Kids will participate in games, sports, homework time, swimming and more. Enrichment activities, available at an extra cost, include karate, robotics, swim lessons/team and tae kwon do.

St. Petersburg College offers open water diver class: St. Petersburg College is offering an open water diver class on the Clearwater and Tarpon Springs campuses that provides divers with an SEI Open Water Diver certificate and two college credit hours. The class runs for 10 weeks and meets twice a week from 2 p.m. to 4:40 p.m. The class includes two springs dives at the Rainbow River and three open water dives on artificial reefs off Clearwater.

Once students are certified, they can join the SPC Underwater Research Society (scuba club) and participate in both research and sport dives on local natural and artificial reefs.

Praise Cathedral gives out free socks and shoes: Praise Cathedral (4371 76th Ave. N, Pinellas Park) will give out free socks and shoes to more than 250 school age children during the National Night Out on Aug. 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
