Chamber to hold 'Getting to Know you' event Friday

The Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce will hold its bimonthly "Getting to Know You" session from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. The event is at Island's Bamboo Garden, 6540 85th Ave. N, Pinellas Park. Chamber membership is not required; everyone is welcome. ST. PETERSBURG

Fishing tournament will benefit children

A fishing tournament Friday at St. Petersburg Yacht Club will benefit the Children's Dream Fund. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in offshore and inshore divisions. The $80 entry fee includes an awards dinner and beer. The Pinellas County Association of Insurance Agents hosts the event, which starts at 6 a.m. For information, visit paiatournament.com.

Come to academy for some networking

The St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce will host an after-hours networking session from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Admiral Farragut Academy, 501 Park St. N. The fee is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers. Hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks will be served.
