Police find meth lab in St. Petersburg neighborhood

Several homes in St. Petersburg were evacuated early Saturday morning when police found a methamphetamine lab in a garage.

Officers went to 3445 4th Ave. S just after 12 a.m. to arrest Clark Vinson Reed on two counts of the sale, delivery and possession of methamphetamine.

Reed, 51, hid in a garage, where officers said they found both him and the drug lab. The home and surrounding residences were evacuated and a one-block perimeter was set up around the meth lab.

Hazmat crews and police disassembled and removed the lab. The area was declared safe Saturday morning.

Clark was also charged with resisting arrest without violence. He was being held on $100,000 bond.
