PORT RICHEY — Tim Sirois was appointed interim fire chief on Tuesday by City Manager Richard Reade.
Sirois, 43, has been with the fire department for 17 years, serving as a lieutenant and fire captain before the latest promotion.
Sirois is the second city official promoted since Friday, when Mathias J. Brewi, the public safety director overseeing the fire and police departments, announced he was leaving.
Dave Brown, 53, a lieutenant in the police department, was promoted Friday to interim police chief.
Both Sirois and Brown will receive 5 percent pay raises for their new roles. Sirois earned $42,000 and Brown earned $47,000 a year before they were promoted.
