SUN CITY CENTER

The Performing Arts Company of Sun City Center will present the one-act musical Toy Box on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Rollins Theater, 970 Cherry Hills Drive. The show will be performed by the Progress Village Middle Magnet School of the Arts.

The show tells the story of two toys who don't feel like they belong, so they go on a journey outside the toy box. But what they find outside of the toy box is not what they expect.

The ensemble of students in grades 6-8 received a straight superior rating this year at the District One Act Junior Thespian Festival. They were chosen from among other schools in the district as the "Critics Choice."

Tickets for the show are $5. Proceeds from the show benefit the Progress Village drama department. Tickets are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the SCC Atrium Kiosk, or by calling (813) 220-7913. Tickets for all other shows in the series will be $10. Season tickets are available for $60 for seven shows. For information, visit PerformingArtsCompany-SCC.org.

The show is the first of a series of seven shows, as part of the Performing Arts Company's Lite Summer Variety Series.
