Neighborhood center offers help with taxes

The Mattie Williams Neighborhood Family Center is helping residents with tax preparation through a partnership with the Wealth Building Coalition. Free tax preparation and e-filing for households with incomes of less than $49,000 is available at the center, 1001 M.L. King St. N, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon, on Thursdays from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call (727) 791-8255.

Park's nature walk will be Saturday

Register now for a guided nature walk on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Philippe Park, 2525 Philippe Parkway. Attendees will learn park history while exploring nature. Participants should meet at the Philippe grave site at 9 a.m. An adult must accompany children. Call (727) 669-1947 or email


Historian will discuss 'Titanic'

The Dunedin Historical Museum and the Dunedin Public Library will host Titanic historian and lecturer Henry Loscher on the 100th anniversary of the ship's sinking. Visit the library, 223 Douglas Ave., at 2 p.m. April 15 for "A Titanic Afternoon: A Voyage of Discovery." Refreshments will be served as Loscher — whose parents were friends of the Aks family, Titanic survivors — discusses his more than 50 years of research. Titanic artifacts, including items showcasing assistance efforts by the American Red Cross, are already on display at the museum, 349 Main St. Additional artifacts will be displayed at the library later this month. Dance classes are canceled

Greek dance classes with Dr. Mary Coros previously scheduled for March 21 through May 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center have been canceled because of the illness of the instructor. Fine arts festival needs volunteers

Volunteers are needed for the 38th Annual Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival, which will be March 31 and April 1 at Craig Park on the bayou. The hours of the show are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The volunteers are needed to work two- to three-hour shifts in various positions on either day.
