Chorus auditions: The Tampa Bay Children's Chorus is seeking boys and girls in grades 3-12 to audition for its chorus groups: the cantate for beginning singers, the concert choir for intermediate singers and the chamber choir for advanced singers.

Regular rehearsals begin Monday at 6 p.m. at St. Catherine's Episcopal Church, 502 Druid Hills Road, Temple Terrace. Children may audition at any time during the year if open spots are available. For more information or to schedule an audition, call (813) 977-5558 or visit tbcchorus.org.

Baseball clinic: Everyone Can Play! will host its third annual special needs baseball clinic on Saturday at Northside Little League, 2650 N Lakeview Drive, Tampa, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The nonprofit organization pairs high school athletes with children with physical and intellectual disabilities for one-day skills building baseball camps. Students from Jesuit High School, Gates High School, the Academy at the Lakes and other area schools will volunteer at the clinic. The clinic is open to children ages 4 and older. For more information or to register, visit everyonecanplay.org.

Science fair: Corbett Preparatory School of IDS held a science fair earlier last month. Local judges from schools like the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa critiqued projects from third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students. Fifth-grade students created individual projects, while third- and fourth-grade students could work in groups. The students learned about the scientific process by designing experiments to test hypotheses, and then created displays to showcase their findings. The projects covered topics like whether bottled water is better than tap water, and what kind of sugar ants prefer. Students from Corbett Prep will compete in the Hillsborough County STEM Science and Engineering Fair in February.
