Students from Jesuit High School, Gates High School, the Academy at the Lakes and other area schools will volunteer at the clinic. The clinic is open to children ages 4 and older. For more information or to register, visit everyonecanplay.org.
Science fair: Corbett Preparatory School of IDS held a science fair earlier last month. Local judges from schools like the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa critiqued projects from third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students. Fifth-grade students created individual projects, while third- and fourth-grade students could work in groups. The students learned about the scientific process by designing experiments to test hypotheses, and then created displays to showcase their findings. The projects covered topics like whether bottled water is better than tap water, and what kind of sugar ants prefer. Students from Corbett Prep will compete in the Hillsborough County STEM Science and Engineering Fair in February.
