Senior menus, week of Aug. 29

Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: the Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged; the Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. To get meal options or to volunteer, call (727) 834-3340 in west Pasco; (352) 521-5174 in east Pasco; or (813) 929-1231 in central Pasco.

Monday: Breaded fish filet with tartar sauce, cheese grits, tomatoes and okra, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, mixed fruit, low fat milk.

Tuesday: Sliced meatloaf with onion gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, whole wheat bread, applesauce, low fat milk.

Wednesday: Split pea soup, grilled chicken breast patty with tomato pepper sauce, yellow rice, broccoli cuts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, oatmeal raisin cookie, low fat milk.

Thursday: Beef and macaroni casserole, carrot coins, garden peas, dinner roll with margarine, fresh fruit, low fat milk.

Friday: Pork riblet with barbecue sauce, lyonnaise potatoes, mixed vegetables, seeded hamburger bun with margarine, pears, low fat milk.
